As with any new forms of technology, there will be some uncertainty as to how it works. Infrared is no different as it is still in its infancy in the heating market. However, acting on completely different physical principles compared to convectional radiators, it is important that you understand how it works.
Standard gas or electric convection radiators work by filling up with hot water. This will then, in turn, make the air around it hot. This hot air will rise and then drop when it cools down – creating a convection current. When you pass through this cycle, you will feel its warmth.
Infrared panels, on the other hand, will emit warmth via radiation. The rays will come out of the panel and bounce around the space, hitting into targets. Each time they hit something, the object absorbs some of that heat and will re-emit any leftover for this process to continue.
The key difference is that convectors heat the air around them whilst, IR panels heat objects themselves on a molecular level.

Using the Automated Temperature Control to have the panel turn on and off to maintain a chosen temperature. Furthermore, set different on/off times for weekends and weekdays with the 7-Day Timer.
With the Adaptive Start, you can have the unit switch on early in order to work up to a desired temperature for a chosen time. Finally, activate the Open Window Detection to have the heater shut down as soon as it notices a drop in temperature.
With each of these features being easily used, you can use any of them using the remote controller.
Powered by 2 AAA batteries, the remote has a built-in temperature reader which will gauge the warmth of the room to an accuracy of ±0.5°C.
The remote has an LCD display and 9 simple buttons. It will show you the time, target temperatures, the date and more so you are given every detail you need to know.
To pair the remote to the unit, simply ensure the green switch on the panel is in the off position and then simultaneously hold down the ‘MODE’ and ‘°C/°F’ buttons until you hear a beep. You can pair one remote to multiple panels if you so wish.
Every section of the panel has a specific purpose and will not have been added for no reason. You will notice on receiving your unit that there is a tiny blue LED light in the bottom right-hand corner.
It is there as a plain indication if your panel is on or off. When it is shining, the panel will be emitting heat and when you cannot see it, the panel will be off. This simple addition will avoid any confusion as to whether it is functioning and is also convenient as you can tell from a distance.
The choice of an LED was to add to the benefits of the panel as they are energy-efficient, emit well in colour and also last for up to 20 years.

To install your panel or bar heater, drill 4 holes into your wall as per the mounting template provided with your heater.
For panels, insert the wall plugs, followed by the screws, and use the cross-hair bolt insertion hole brackets on the back of the panel to mount it in place.
For bar heaters, use the provided screws to mount the brackets onto your wall, and then onto the back of the heater. Use the provided wing nuts to secure the wall brackets and heater brackets together at an angle best suited for your area.
Plug the heater into your mains, or get a qualified electrician to hardwire it for you.
