As Infrared heating is still relatively new in the market, there is still some uncertainty around how it actually works. Being completely different to the physical principles of traditional heaters, we’re here to help you understand how your panel will emit heat.
Standard gas and convection heaters work by filling up with hot water. This will, in turn, make the air around it hotter and this air will rise. Once it reaches the ceiling, it will cool down and sink. As this process continues, it creates what we call a convection current – you feel its heat when you pass through it.
Infrared heating, on the other hand, will emit heat by way of thermal radiation. The panel emits IR rays that will bounce around the space and hit into target objects. Once hit, the target will absorb some of that heat and re-emit it back into the space for this process to continue.
The key difference to bear in mind is that convectors heat air, whilst IR rays heat objects and people directly.

Things get very intelligent with the Adaptive Start. Use this feature to set a goal temperature and the panel will wake up early in order to work up to this for a chosen time. Finally, activate the Open Window Detection to have the heater turn off automatically when it senses a drop in temperature.
On receiving your panel, you will find that there is a blue LED light installed in the bottom right-hand corner. But what are these for?
It is no secret that the anatomy of our IR panels is sleek and simple. With no moving parts and every component having a function, there are no unnecessary additions at all.
The blue LED light is there as a plain indication if your panel is on or off. When it is shining, the panel will be emitting heat and when you cannot see it, the panel will be off. This simple addition of this little illuminator will avoid any confusion as to whether the unit is functioning and you can also tell from a distance.

To install your panel or bar heater, drill 4 holes into your wall as per the mounting template provided with your heater.
For panels, insert the wall plugs, followed by the screws, and use the cross-hair bolt insertion hole brackets on the back of the panel to mount it in place.
For bar heaters, use the provided screws to mount the brackets onto your wall, and then onto the back of the heater. Use the provided wing nuts to secure the wall brackets and heater brackets together at an angle best suited for your area.
Plug the heater into your mains, or get a qualified electrician to hardwire it for you.
