What Is Infrared Heating?

Infrared heat works in a completely different way to conventional radiators.

Normal heaters work by way of convection current – they get hot and heat the air around them which then causes the air to circulate.

Infrared heaters work by emitting infrared waves everywhere, which have marginal impact on air temperature. Instead, they heat the objects that they come into contact with, which absorb the waves and re-emit them back out.

The waves then continue this process until they have exhausted all their energy. Bear in mind that the panels are constantly emitting these waves, so you’ll feel the warmth within a few minutes.

This kind of heat has a number of advantages.

IR Panels Are Energy Efficient

In any given room, there is always going to be less total surface area than there is volume of space. Given that IR panels work by heating surface area, they require a lot less energy compared to electric convection radiators.

For you, this means lower electricity bills and a reduced carbon footprint. This applies to gas powered central heating systems too – in that our panels let you heat individual rooms, whereas your boiler will heat your whole house whether you’re using all the rooms or not.

Infrared Heating Panels Are Discreet

Typical convection heaters are limited in terms of where you can use them. The location of your piping is one thing, and they also have to be located on the floor.

Infrared heating panels can be mounted pretty much anywhere you want. Combine this with their flat design that enable images to be printed on them, and you can disguise them as decorative pieces instead of heaters.

The other advantage of this is that your entire floor space becomes free, and you no longer have to worry about where you place your furniture.
