This breath-taking image depicts the aptly named Sombrero Galaxy – due to the fact that its dark dust lane and larger than average central bulge make it look like a sombrero. At approximately 30% of the size of the Milky Way, it is a relatively smaller galaxy, though its 50,000 light year span still boggles the mind!

The panel itself measures 595 x 995 x 22mm, whilst the FIR Coating surface beams out 580W worth of infrared heat, reaching temperatures as high as 95^oC. This is nothing to be alarmed about though – don’t forget that normal radiators also get very hot when they’re on too.

You could even get around this by mounting it high up on your wall or ceiling and putting it out of reach – this is something you can’t do with convection heaters which have to be placed along the floor.

You can adjust your goal temperature as well as turn the heater on and off, no matter where you are, as long as you have a signal. You’ll also be able to set various timers through meaning you can have your heater come on automatically when it’s most convenient to you.

Keep Things Simple With A Remote

Even if your Wi-Fi signal drops out, you’ll still be able to control your heating easily thanks to the included remote control. This handy little device lets you switch your heating on and off at range, as well as adjust your goal temperature.

This remote doesn’t have the same range as the Smart Life app, but it’s a great option for easy control when you’re in the room with your panel. It’s also fantastic if you’re not glued to your phone 24/7, or if you have people or guests in your house who don’t want to go through the whole pairing process.

Infrared Heating Explained

Infrared heat works in a fundamentally different way compared to standard convection heat. Normal radiators work by heating the air around them, and creating what is known as a convection current.

Infrared panels don’t do this – they emit infrared waves throughout your room, which travel at the speed of light until they hit an object. The object absorbs some of the energy in the waves, while the rest bounces off. This process repeats until all of the energy in the waves has been exhausted.

The key difference then, is that infrared heats objects rather than air. This takes far less energy compared to convection heaters and therefore costs you less to run. IR is also completely safe, as it is in fact the same kind of heat emitted by the sun – minus the UV rays of course!

As standard, you’re protected by our 14 day home trial period when you purchase our 595 x 995 Sombrero IR Heating Panel. This lets you send your panel back to us for a full refund or exchange if you’ve changed your mind about anything.

Please bear in mind though that any returns on our Image IR Panels will be subject to restocking fees of 15%.

If you have any other unlikely issues further down the line, Mirrorstone cover you with their 2 year replacement warranty, though this is highly improbable due to the lack of moving parts in the panel itself.
