The 995x1195 Tokyo Nexus Infrared Heating Panel 1200W from Mirrorstone is a larger panel at 995mm x 1195mm x 22mm. Made with a FIR coating, it will heat to a surface temperature of 75-95°C and we recommend mounting it to a wall to avoid any incidents.

Rated IP54, this unit is protected from splashes of water and simply will need to be plugged into your 230v mains to receive its 1200W of required power. With this energy, it will heat a surface area between 17 – 29m².

How Does Infrared Work?

Similarly, to other new technologies, there will be some confusion as to how Infrared heating works. This is also because it is very different to other traditional forms of central heating.

Typically, heaters work by filling up with hot water. This will, in turn, make the air around it hot – this hot air will rise and make way for cool air to fall. This will create what is known as a convection current so when you pass through it, you will feel its warmth.

On the other hand, there is IR heating. It will transmit heat by way of thermal radiation and emit IR rays – the same kind that are emitted by the Sun. Unlike the Sun, they will not give off UV rays which are known to be harmful.

Infrared waves will bounce around the space and hit into objects. The target will absorb some heat and then re-emit the leftovers for the process to continue. This is highly efficient as it will heat things directly, rather than not the air, and not waste any energy.
