The Mirrorstone 22kW Air Source Heat Pump is an incredibly powerful method of heating your home in an effective and environmentally friendly manner. It’s particularly well-suited for older buildings with poor insulation, and will bring a whole host of benefits into your life.

How Air Source Heat Pumps Work

Air source heat pumps are built to use the air around them! Even when it’s cold outside, there’s still heat within the air that the heat pump will then be able to pass into your home.

This warm air passes into a liquid refrigerant, turning into a gas. This gas passes through a compressor, which warms it up further. That’s why even cold air can be turned into heat! This compressed gas is then used to heat up water.

After this, the warmed-up water is circulated around your house. If that last part sounds familiar, it’s because that’s exactly the same process as a traditional combustion boiler! This is why a heat pump can be used to produce general heating as well as hot water.

This entire process can be played out in reverse to provide you with cold water circulation during warmer months.

Installation of an Air Source Heat Pump should only be carried out by a qualified plumber.
