How To Use The Smart Life App With Your Athena IR Bar Heater

The Smart Life app is amazing at letting you unlock new ways to control and schedule your Athena heater. This guide will help you understand everything you need to be an expert in no time.

Getting Started

If you haven’t already paired your heater to your home network, you’ll need to do that before anything else. You can follow this handy guide [LINK].

Once you’ve done this, open up your Smart Life app.

Switching Your Heater On And Off

Press the ‘switch’ button in the bottom left corner of your screen to turn your heater on and off. The display on your app and on your heater will change.

Changing Temperature

Press the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons to adjust your target temperature in 1-degree increments. You can also use the wheel in the centre of your screen by dragging it left and right.

Changing The Power Level

Tap the ‘levels’ button at the bottom of the screen. This will let you choose between one of four power levels for your heater, with one being the lowest level at 25% power and four being the highest at 100% power. Level two will give you 50% power and level three will give you 75%.

The current power level is displayed at the top of your screen.

Using The Timer

Press the ‘countdown’ button at the bottom of your screen.

You can set how long you want your heater to remain on for in hour long increments, with a maximum of 24 hours. You’ll see the current timer setting at the top of your screen.

Child Lock

Press the ‘settings’ button, followed by the ‘child lock’ toggle to lock and unlock your heater. You’ll see a lock icon appear on the bar heater screen when it is locked.

Change The Temperature Unit

Still in the settings menu, hit the ‘change temp unit’ button to swap between Celsius and Fahrenheit. This will change the units in the app and on the bar heater screen.

Open Window Detection Mode

Press the ‘window detect’ button toggles Open Window Detection Mode on and off. This setting will cause your heater to turn itself off if it detects a sudden drop in temperature- the sort that occurs when you open a window.

Activate The Body Sensor

Pressing the ‘body sensor’ button will toggle this mode on. This mode ensures the heater will only be on when there is someone near it.

Turning The Display On And Off

Simply press the ‘display’ toggle button to switch your heater’s display on or off.

Scheduling

Press the ‘Timer’ button at the bottom of the settings menu. You’ll be taken to a new menu, press the ‘Add’ button to get started.

From here, you can set a time for this schedule to occur. Next, choose whether you want this schedule to repeat on certain days.

You can also set a note, which will help you keep track of multiple schedules. This is an optional step.

The notification toggle button will let your app send you a notification when the schedule activates.

Finally, the ‘switch’ button will let you choose whether this schedule turns your heater on and off.
