Green Heating
If you need efficient heat fast while still adding some premium style to a space, the 1.2kW Zenos Wi-Fi Remote Controllable Infrared Bar Heater combines a powerful source of heat with an ultra-convenient control method.
You can easily pair this heater with the Smart Life app (available on the App store and the Google Play store), which gives you access to a range of ways to control it from anywhere with an internet connection. Set timers on a 7-day schedule or adjust things precisely from anywhere in the world, it’s all in the palm of your hand.
Don’t want to use the app? You also get a remote control as part of your purchase, which lets you interface with the heater without connecting to your Wi-Fi.
You can even choose between a high and low power mode to further customise things. When in low power mode, your heater will only use 600W of power, creating a less intense heat. Perfect for taking the edge off.
Those 1.2 kilo watts will be put to very good use, as this heater can heat an area of 18m². All this power is contained within a 940mm by 150mm body, which is also only 67mm deep, meaning its relatively compact compared to other similarly powerful heaters.
With an IP44 rating, this heater is protected from splashes of water. If you’d like to install it outside, we’d highly recommending keeping it under a cover to protect it from heavy rain. Alternatively, consider the Athena range instead, as that has an IP65 rating and is thus protected from jets of water.
Please note that the advised heated areas are for guidance only. For a more accurate heated area that is more relevant to your home, please either use our Calculator located at the top of this page, or speak to one of our Customer Services advisors about your room.
We advise installing your bar heater at a height of at least 2m from the floor, with a clearance of at least 30cm all around the bar heater.
Infrared heaters take the same infrared heat that you experience in sunlight and turn it into a targeted source of heat that you control.
IR radiation is a natural heat source, and completely safe to be around. There’s no damaging UV radiation to stress about, just healthy infrared heat. When IR waves hit you, they get absorbed by your body. This agitates the molecules inside of you, which creates heat.
This is a more direct and penetrative method of heat than traditional convection heaters, which actually leads to numerous health benefits. For example, it can help give you a massive boost to your circulation, which in turn improves your recovery time after exercise and reduces muscle soreness.
It’ll even ensure less mould and dust is spread around your room, which is a particular help to asthma sufferers.
It’s helpful to know exactly what your heater is doing at any given moment without having to dig through a phone app. That’s why this range comes with a handy LED screen that communicates a tonne of information.
Firstly, you’ll see the target temperature your heater is trying to reach so you can tell at a glance if it needs adjusting or not. There’s even a handy graphic so you can tell if the heater is actively producing heat, as well as a small stopwatch logo to tell you if you’ve set a timer or not.
The main feature of this heater is its ability to connect to your Wi-Fi network. All you need to do is download the Smart Life app on your iOS or Android device, pair the app to your heater and you’re ready to go.
With this done, you can control your heating from literally anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access. Forget that sinking feeling as you realise halfway to work that you’ve left the heating on, you can turn it off with a tap of a button.
Please note that this heater is only compatible with 2.4Ghz network signals.
Some Wi-Fi enabled appliances can only be controlled through the Wi-Fi, meaning if your signal ever cuts out, you’re stuck with an expensive paperweight. This isn’t the case with Zenos, as you will receive a remote with your purchase.
The remote is simple for anyone to pick up and use, and it lets turn your heating on or off, set your goal temperature, and even adjust your timers. While you have to be closer to the heater to use the remote, it’s a great option to have if you’re not glued to your phone (or if you have other members of your household without phones who’ll still want to use the heater).
