The 2.4kW Athena Infrared Bar Heater is a powerful heater with a stylish finish, perfect for creating a premium look in a variety of domestic and commercial spaces that won’t compromise on style.
This bar heater features an IP65 rating, which means it’s protected from many inclement weather conditions. You won’t need to provide a cover for it if you want to use it outdoors.
Using 2.4kW of power means this heater can heat an area of approximately 33-38m². However, it only measures 994mm by 160mm, with a depth of 88mmm which makes it noticeably sleeker compared to other similarly powered heaters. The stylish black finish complements the orange glow it will produce perfectly, completing the look.

When using this heater with a standard 13A socket, we recommend hard wiring the heater directly to the mains supply.
Understanding the difference between an infrared heater and an ordinary convection heater is the key to understanding just how revolutionary infrared heat can be. Let’s take a moment to unpack the science.
Infrared heaters release waves of infrared radiation. These waves travel through the room until they bump into something- usually a piece of furniture, or a person. That object will absorb the waves, taking on some of the energy they carry. The new energy causes the molecules inside the object to vibrate, generating heat. They’ll then send the waves along to the next object.
If this sounds at all familiar, it’s probably because you’ve read about how the sun works. It operates using the exact same process. That’s why standing in front of an infrared heater feels so nice, just like standing outside on a sunny day.
This process is a lot quicker compared to convection heat, and far easier to target. That’s why infrared heaters can wind up using less energy to get you feeling comfy, saving you money and reducing their environmental impact.
Athena isn’t the only IR heater on the market, but we make a point to make sure our heaters use the best materials possible. Crucially, Athena heaters are constructed from aluminium, and their heating elements are made from carbon fibre.
These two materials are amazing at heat diffusion. This keeps the thermal efficiency of your heater as high as possible, and also ensures that it lasts for a really long time. That’s because with adequate diffusion, the internal components are under a lot less strain. This is why our heaters can last for up to 30 years with only an occasional dusting required.
The key difference between the Athena range and our other heaters is that they use near infrared heating instead of far infrared. To quickly explain, this means that the infrared produced is further down the electromagnetic spectrum, with shorter wavelengths.
That means the heat produced by Athena is noticeably more intense than any of its equivalent heaters. This is fantastic for use outdoors.
Near infrared is still safe to be around, but it can be a little too intense to sit very close to for prolonged periods. That’s where the Athena’s design really comes into its own, as it can be mounted on the wall, close enough for you to feel the benefits without any of the drawbacks.
Everything you need to get your heater safely installed is included in the box as standard- minus a drill.
All you’ll need to do is use the stencil to draw on the surface you want the heater to go, then drill in the brackets. These brackets are adjustable for more targeted heating.
Note that while the Athena can be plugged into a regular socket, for long term use we’d recommend having a professional electrician wire it into the mains.
Each panel comes with a stress-free 2-year warranty, for no additional charge, for your peace of mind at all times. This can be upgraded to 5 years for free.
