We’re taking a closer look at our diverse offering of Salus products.

While our focus is naturally on heating, Salus smart devices can be used as part of a wider smart home ecosystem.

As a rule, Salus thermostats feature a lower cost of entry compared to other smart thermostats like Nest. They don’t all offer the same breadth of customisation, but there are plenty of features for you to get stuck into and ensure you save a lot more energy than with a standard thermostat.

Note: all Salus products should be used with the Salus Smart Home App. You should avoid mixing and matching different product ecosystems if you can help it, as this will reduce the risk of conflicts.

The Smart Hub And Smart Relay

The Salus SR600 Smart Relay and the Salus UG600 Universal Gateway are two interconnected devices, so we’ll cover them both here.

These devices are the key to a Salus smart home. The Gateway provides a central hub for your various smart devices to connect to, so your phone will only need to be synchronised to that instead of loads of different bits and pieces.

The Smart Relay is a special switching relay that can be installed into a junction box, allowing for remote control of anything connected into that circuit. This relay then connects to your Gateway through Wi-Fi, allowing those additional devices to have smart controls.

The Quantum Range

Moving back to thermostats, the Salus SQ610 Quantum Thermostat and the Salus SQ610RF Battery Powered Quantum Thermostat are great all round options that can suit a range of lifestyles.

These thermostats can be connected to your Wi-Fi, letting you control your heating from anywhere in the world. It also features a Holiday mode, so if you’re going to be away from home for a while you won’t need to stress about unexpected cold snaps killing your pipes.

The only difference between the two models is that the SQ610 needs to be hard wired into the mains, while the SQ610RF can be powered by two AA batteries

The RT520RF Boiler Plus Compliant Thermostat

While most of these thermostats can be combined with boilers, the Salus RT520RF Boiler Plus Compliant Thermostat is specifically built with them in mind. It features two-way communication between your boiler and your thermostat that ensures maximum efficiency and comfort. It can even display specific boiler error codes.

Keeping Things Simple

Don’t want the faff of sorting out smart heating, but still want an upgrade compared to your basic, run-of-the-mill thermostat? The Salus RF Digital Programmable Thermostat is built for you.

This is a programmable thermostat, not a smart one. That means you can’t control it through your Wi-Fi, but you can set a 7-day schedule so that the heating will come on at certain set times. You can choose between a 5/2 schedule (so a set schedule for Monday to Friday) and then a separate schedule for the weekend.

It even features a Holiday mode and a Sleep mode, to help you save money outside the heating season.
